Our First Product: Chronic Pain

With the recent launch of the website, I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce our first product, as well as to explain some questions that I anticipate people will have. Those two questions are “why does the site only have one product?” as well as “why choose chronic pain for the first product?”
In addressing the first of these, I wanted to begin the process of introducing the brand to people, as well as to start to generate discussion about the project in general; this can only begin if there is something tangible for people to access and begin to follow. Elevation Process is not as concerned with selling product as it is with connecting with people on a fundamental level. Our goal is always to help others first, which we will attempt to do through all of our forms of social media; the products are really just an extension of this. The obvious downside with this business model though, is that it only works as long as people are engaged and the project in general “gets out” so to speak. This is what we rely on you, the consumer for. Every person that is moved by our content to share that information with someone in their social network strengthens this connection and facilitates growth.

Concerning the question of “why choose chronic pain management for your first product,” I think it’s important to recall the pillars this company is built on (i.e., education, reducing stigma, and altruism). Chronic pain management fits with all of these three. People dealing with chronic pain often struggle to find reliable information concerning pain and the current best practices for pain management. These folks are often subjected to stigma as well and feel the spurn of society as they are shunned by medical professionals and those closest to them due to a deep misunderstanding of the underlying issue (the pain itself). Finally, we chose chronic pain management to be our first product because it is the right thing to do. If I suffered from crushing chronic pain on a daily basis, I would want someone who has knowledge in the area to share their information and expertise with me; what a fantastic resource that would be!

To my knowledge, this is the first product of its kind to be created. While it’s true that many books have been written on pain management, there hasn’t ever been the option to watch a registered psychologist discuss issues that may be directly influencing your life. More than that, the world has changed and the accessibility of this program makes it very unique; now you can carry that education with you and access it any time you want via your account with Elevation Process and your mobile device. The internet can be a fantastic resource for information, we believe that it is high time that this resource is used in a more effective way for people.
It is also important to remember, that once you pay for one of our products, your access to this information never expires. You can watch the videos and engage in the exercises as often as you would like, and in fact, we encourage this! Repetition is key to making behavior changes that last; so watch these videos again and again. Share what you learn in the videos with your family members and loved ones; start to have meaningful productive conversations around what we CAN do with chronic pain, rather than just solely on what we can’t. Finally, heed the educational advice in the videos and start to put it into practice in your life. Education is meaningless if we learn nothing from it.
